Oshkosh: As always, we attended EAA's AirVenture Oshkosh, and we hope you enjoy our annual Oshkosh 2010 Photo Essay. Enjoy!

Speaking of Oshkosh, if you missed your opportunity to pick up one of our fantastic new T-shirts, now's your chance to get in on the action! Go to our "Products" page to order yours!

They're available in six awesome designs: P-51 Mustang, P-40 Warhawk, P-39 Lightning, F4U Corsair, B-25 Mitchell, and Spitfire!

New Pilot Resources page: In a continuing effort to provide useful information to our readers, we've added a Pilot Resources page, featuring useful forms, flight planning resources, and other online information specifically for U.S.-based pilots. We'll be adding to this page and improving it over the next few weeks. We hope you like it!

Ongoing threats to warbirds and General Aviation: There are many issues in today's world that could easily have severe consequences to aircraft owners, and especially "specialty" aircraft such as warbirds. The stroke of a legislator's pen has the power to drastically affect ownership and operation of these aircraft. The government is often lambasted for its draconian measures, but the truth is, "government" often takes the form of no more than a well-meaning but ignorant lawmaker and his/her staff who don't fully understand the implications that their new regulations will have on our community.

Last year's draconian LASP (Large Aircraft Security Program) will soon be followed by LASP II, and this time, the powers-that-be are aiming squarely at everyone -- all aircraft, of all sizes and gross weights. If that happens, our freedom to fly as we do today may disappear very quickly.

There are major warbird organizations such as EAA's Warbirds of America and the Commemorative Air Force, along with the Aircraft Owner's and Pilot's Association (AOPA), who fight these kinds of fights constantly. They need our help to keep informed and alert.

We urge everyone with a love of warbirds and classic aircraft of all kinds to pledge to stay informed, write letters when appropriate, and join these advocacy organizations. Politicians understand political pressure and, sometimes, the sustained and overwhelming voices of lots of people.

Please use our Governmental Threats page as a starting point for keeping up with the latest issues. Thank you for supporting the warbird community!
